Website, Comic Con & Snow

01/15/19

Last Friday night we pushed the button and made our website live!!! Obviously, because you are reading this, silly me. The last few days have been a whirlwind. We are so blown away by all the love out there. Thank you everyone, for all the well wishes and congratulations.

But we must tell you it was scary. I think I broke out in hives (no really, I did) and had a tiny panic attack before pushing ‘Publish’. The site is still under construction. We are doing our best to get it up to speed. We still can’t figure out how to make it do things we want, but we are trying.

We were so excited to see it up on the internet; we celebrated with a small bottle of champagne we had sitting around doing nothing. Thank you Rod, for thinking of it. There was just enough for four glasses, and it was the perfect way to say, Yay Us. You have no idea how hard this computer stuff is for some people. Like, um… old-er people, meaning… us. Both of my sons-in-law are computer software engineers. I think even they are proud of us.

In other news, we are also designing merchandise with our logo. These items will be available for sale on the website through an awesome company by the name of Customize Girl. We will have an on-line shop through them. We will let you know when it is up and running.

Which brings me to the realization we will look pretty silly, if you all hate the book. But we are going under the assumption that you will love it. Well… maybe love is a strong word. But we think you will enjoy it. We hope you will, anyway and if you do… then it would be super awesome if you would buy a tee-shirt. Then when someone asks you about it, you can tell them about our book. It’s a win/win. We get a shameless plug, and you get a new friend and a cool tee-shirt.

We have also added information on two events we will be attending. Comic Con, Oaks, PA in April and Wizard World Comic Con, Philadelphia, PA in June. We hope you will come check it out. We’ve never been to a Comic Con and don’t know exactly what to expect. But we are looking forward to it. We have seen pictures of some costumes and can’t wait to go see them in person. Some people are super talented!

It would be great if some of you would show up at either of the Comic Cons to say hi, just so we don’t feel completely out of place. Moral support is always welcome. All joking aside, it looks like it will be great fun. No, I’m serious, we need moral support! Not above begging.

As far as the book goes, the final editing of Book 1 is complete. The next step is for us to format the file, so they can upload it for publication. Ugh! Again, with the learning how to do computer stuff we never wanted to learn. No pain, no gain, right? Gosh, I hope it isn’t as painful as the website which in all fairness, must be pretty darn simple, if even we could figure it out. Thank you Wix.com

Formatting is a whole other ball of wax though. “But, how hard can it be? I’m sure it will be fine,” she says as she grits her teeth, and shakes her head no. So, if we are successful, we should have a printable book soon. You will be the first to know as soon as it becomes available. We promise.

In the meantime, we hear there is a bit of a snowstorm heading in our direction. As our kids always say; let the buying of the milk and bread commence. Get yourself some hot chocolate and maybe a bottle of wine while you are out. Hunker down with a movie in your jammies. That’s probably what we will be doing. Stay safe everyone. Until next time…
